Information is provided below on the various ways non-profits and community-based organizations can interact with the University. Student Volunteers
The Community Outreach Office coordinates the local volunteer service of University students and helps coordinates community sites for service learning courses. The Office also maintains a list of current volunteer opportunities and a . Non-profit organizations in need of volunteers can contact Ellen Judge at 570-941-7429 or judgee2@scranton.edu, or complete and return a volunteer request form.
Student Interns
The University’s Career Services Office advertises local internship opportunities and will work closely with organizations to help identify student interns. Organizations taking interns must provide a sustained and supervised work experience. Work can be part-time or full-time, paid or unpaid, on-campus or off-campus, for-credit or not for-credit. Faculty Research & Course Projects
University faculty research and service-learning courses are potential resources for University-community collaboration. If you have a project that would benefit the work of your organization or the wider community and provide a meaningful learning experience for students, please contact the Associate Provost for Civic Engagement and Academic Mission, Dr. Steve Jones at Joness21@scranton.edu or (570)-941-7520.

Use of Facilities
The University is happy to make available its facilities to non-profits free of charge. Between 2004 and 2009 alone, the University has hosted 3,735 events by community organizations, waiving more than $140,000 in room usage fees.
Room usage is subject to University approval and scheduling. Inquiries can be sent to community@scranton.edu with the subject line “Room Request.” The email should include the name of the organization, brief description of organization 第一吃瓜网, website address (if applicable), purpose of the room use, and the date and time requested. To accommodate requests, agencies are advised to send inquiries with ample advance notice, ideally 2-3 months.
