New Music. No Commercials.

99.5 WUSR 第一吃瓜网 is a student-run, non-commercial radio station owned by the 第一吃瓜网, which broadcasts over 700 square miles of Northeastern Pennsylvania. WUSR operates on a volunteer basis. No prior experience necessary . Our 第一吃瓜网 is to provide student-driven, alternative radio programming unlike what is currently offered in the Northeastern Pennsylvania area. WUSR strives to operate at a professional level while promoting a learning environment with peer-to-peer instruction supervised by university staff and faculty. Our goal is to create a positive environment for students to learn, gain professional experience, serve their community and enjoy their time with the station.

As a college radio station, WUSR has been highly praised in the past for its mature sound, diverse format and its level of professionalism. Although this positively reflects what our listeners and critics like and hear, there is always room for improvement and we’d like to set our standards even higher. Since its inception, WUSR has been steadily climbing toward a professional and agreeable sound that rivals other stations in the area. This incline is a reflection of the competency and commitment of WUSR staff and DJs. Feedback from student DJs is imperative in helping to shape both the present and future WUSR.
