Hands-On Experience

Internships in our department are available to students in their junior and senior years. They offer invaluable experience that can bring concepts and theories to life. Students can sample potential careers, build their resumes, and learn new skills.

Criminal Justice majors have completed internships in settings such as:
  • District Attorney’s office
  • Federal court administrator’s office
  • State and municipal police agencies
  • Private security
  • Drug and rehabilitation services
  • Federal probation
  • U.S. Marshals
  • U.S. Secret Service
  • County and state prisons
  • Juvenile court

Potential Internships for Cybercrime and Homeland Security majors:

  • : The Cyber & Infrastructure Agency offers positions as Cyber & IT Interns. Interns work on projects focused on cybersecurity and expose the student to practical application of the principles, concepts, work processes, methods, techniques, regulations, reference materials, and procedures fundamental of Information Security (INFOSEC) and cybersecurity. 
  • The Department of Homeland Security offers a variety of prestigious scholarships, fellowships, internships and training opportunities to expose talented students to the broad national security 第一吃瓜网. Students are exposed to real, hands-on work whether it be working alongside current employees or working in laboratories.  
  • : The FBI offers a 10-week paid internship for undergraduate and graduate students offers a unique opportunity to learn and work alongside FBI employees. 
  • : The FLETC College Intern Program is open to college students majoring in criminal justice, criminology, business, information technology, and social science-related fields of study to participate in a federal law enforcement training environment. The 12-week program consists of complete challenging administrative projects that provide insights in how various business lines support our 第一吃瓜网 and work to advance the FLETC’s 第一吃瓜网 of training “those who protect our homeland”.
  • : The NJ Office of Homeland Security offers internships for college undergraduate juniors and seniors or graduate students. This unpaid internship provides its interns with real work assignments that are part of on-going projects at NJOHSP so that they experience having responsibility as well as contributing, just like current employees. 
  • : The NSA offers internships, scholarships, a co-op program and more. Through their programs, students will learn more about NSAand deepen their knowledge of their career field.
