Assessment

The Weinberg Memorial Library is committed to continual assessment and improvement of Library services.

MISO

Measuring Information Service Outcomes (MISO) is a web-based quantitative survey that measures how faculty, students, and staff view library and computing services in higher education.

2022

The Information Technology Division and the Library administered the MISO survey to all University students, staff, and faculty from February 17 to March 4, 2022.

The survey was administered to the following four campus populations. We have indicated the response rates for each:

  • Undergraduate Students: 1300 responses; 42% response rate
  • Graduate Students: 230 responses; 47% response rate
  • Faculty (except Library faculty): 230 responses; 52% response rate
  • Staff (except IT and Library staff): 244 responses; 47% response rate

Data on Computing Services and Library Services are combined in the survey. Library comments were parsed out into a chart, and comments about the survey itself while noted, were removed. Likewise, any comments where individual faculty or staff were identifiable were also noted and removed. The chart of comments about the Library appears below, including our responses/plans for action.

2015

The Information Technology Division and the Library administered the MISO survey to a sample of students and to all faculty and staff in February to March, 2015. Previously, the Library used the LibQual+ ™ survey to assess user satisfaction with Library services, staff and collections. Twenty-one of the responses to the MISO survey had negative comments about the survey and its language. The Library’s responses to the remaining comments are indicated below.
